Hi,
Your CD player is in my office. I am away from the office now but email me and we can arrange a time for you to collect it. Or just ask Sam. It's in the second drawer down in my desk.

portfolio tips, very generic
Your portfolio should take no more than two days of prep. to prepare ,
You should have:
1. Parts from each of the stages of the course
2. Mount on white paper or a charcoal grey.
3. Select work from your sketchbooks to show work in progress, they need to see progression and ideas not just outcomes.
4. Sequence according to strongest work at the front, keep projects together and another strong piece at the back.
5. Style guides should be mounted in a pocket.

Hi,
Trust your own judgment. It isn't preferable to have titles attached with paper clips. I am sure you interview as been and gone but for the record a cover sheet listing projects, small desrciption etc would suffice.

registration numbers SOI help and deadline reminder
Hi,
They are on the notice board. ND numbers will be back up today after someone took them?!
See you Monday
FYI Here are some of the deadlines...
Personal statements for UCAS, your deadline has now been and gone. Anyone not having done this needs to email me asap.
All references will be written up for next friday.
Statments of Intent
I would like final drafts in on Monday/Tuesday
Some tips for SOIs:
Use the headings that have been given to you, that MUST be used in your final draft.
All SOIS must have an evaluation method such as questionnaires, vox pops, video documentary etc.
Timetables need be explained daily, and differentiate between primary and secondary.
You must have a title that explains th eproject clearly. Use your skills from the communication brief.
Concepts and ideas, be ambitious, use language like I intend to I hope to I should be able to... That stops you being cornered into a hole.
Specify an exihibition that is relevant to your work. Make this design related.
Choose several processes that were strong and idicated to you in your assessment AND try some new things, be ambitious.
Include theory, this will help with ideas development.
Be ambitious but remember what is your strength and weakness - research, developemtn work, final outcome. Adjust your timetable accordingly AND make sure you have an action plan. This could include why you leave more time, say for the research (if this is a weakness then that should have more time assigned).
DO put in time to relax!
Above all, don't stressed, eat well and do some exercise!
